Abacus

Israel Sharon (piano), Hanan Feinstein (guitar) “As I composed The Broidered Axe, I felt as if I were a spider with the task of weaving a web from two very different silks, the guitar and piano. The strands were woven delicately and often shudder in their own precariousness. I used the 12-tone method as a point of departure but the motivic shapes quickly determine their own unfolding within the form in a point-counterpoint approach.” -PDC-
