Played from the original sheet music without alterations. First two movements use a classical guitar with bare fingers, and the second two movements are played with a pick on an electric archtop guitar. All movements played at 40bpm, with these relationships:
Adagio (0:00), quarter note = 40
Fugue (3:29), 1 bar of 4/4 = 40
Largo (12:26), 8th note = 40
Allegro Assai (16:38), 1 bar of 12/8 = 40
Good exercise for many guitar techniques. More info here:
The culmination of my undergraduate work in guitar leads to this glorious piece by J.S. Bach. It has been the most rewarding and incredible piece that I have ever played. It is originally written for the violin and portrays some significant challenges when performed on the guitar. This is the first half of the extensive work.
