All Angels Gone composed 5 tracks for symphonic orchestra and bands, from 2010 to 2013. They recorded the COGE symphonic orchestra & choirs + drums & bass , at IRCAM , late summer 2012. Then we recorded lead vocals and electric guitars at home. We started mixing in April 2013, and mixed for 4 to 6 weeks ! We almost got crazy with the complexity of the project, the doubts and hesitation, the stress (mine), and the lack of DSP ! . But we finally guessed mixing it, finding a balance between the subte pianissimo and the massive loud orchestra+choir+band fortissimo, a balance between dynamic range and "truth of the sound", balance between composer Vincent Guedon, producer Paolo Raymond views about the lead vocals. We stop in June 2013 when M. Guedon said "ok I will always find somtimes to modify, but I think I'm satisfied with the result right now". I went to the Abbey Road studio with Andy Walter, a movie orchestra specialist, to masterize the final sound, that was definitively the best project I ever mixed !
