Production on the album began in late 2007 and ended in the late summer of this year. Originally the album was to be called Acquitted, but was later confirmed to be Freedom by Akon’s label, Universal Music. Here’s the tracklist:

Released in June 29 2004, Trouble was Akon’s solo debut album. With hit songs like “Locked Up”, “Belly Dancer”, “Pot of Gold”, “Ghetto” and “Lonely”, Akon managed to sell over 1,4 million copies in the United States reaching Platinum.
After he was in jail for 3 years for car stealing, Akon was inspirated to write “Locked Up” that reached top 5 in the United Kingdom Charts and top 10 in the US. After DJ Glen Lantern added lyrics from 2PAC and Notorious B.I.G., “Ghetto” became an instant radio hit. Also, “Lonely” reached top 10 in Billboard Top 100, it was top for a while in music charts from Germany, UK and Australia and it became the longest single to stay on top of The Box’s Music Channel charts, leading for more than 15 weeks.Track list:
