The Rags to Riches from VH1 tries to present each day a succesful story about someone that has started from really low and managed to be succesful in life.

Tomorrow, at Vh1 there will be 2 guests to share their stories: R&B star AKON and actor/rapper Nick Cannon

Akon will start his story from the early beginning, in Newark, New Jersey and he’s going to reveal his troubled past and show everyone how he persevered to be a chart topping singer/songwriter, producer and proud owner of Konvict Records, home to artists like T-Pain , Kardinal Offishall, Red Cafe and Chilli of TLC.

Akon’s episode will start at 10 p.m and Cannon’s at 10:30 pm.

Thiller, by Michael Jackson was one of best sold albums in the world. It was launched in December 1982 and now, at almost 25 years from that album, several artists gathered to make a new version of the album.

Black Eyed Peas and Will.I.Am will the new single The Girl is mine, and it would appear on the market in 28th of January. Also, the new Thriller album will include the new 2008 version of Wanna be Startin’ Somethin’ that will be played by Akon and Will.I.Am.

Fans were pretty excited when they’ve heard this news and i hope i could find the lyrics for this new Akon song and write them here.

In 2007, the most illegally-downloaded genre of music in 2007 was US Rap. Having 3 number one hits this year, Akon appeared in the list of popular downloads. This 3 songs where: I Wanna Love U featuring Snopp Dogg, Don’t Matter, and Bartender featuring T-Pain.

All these 3 songs reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2007 and this brought Akon, along with T-Pain, Snoop Dogg and Justin Timberlake in the list of most-downloaded artists, a combination of illegal album and singles downloads.

Thursday at 8:30 a.m. PST (1600 GMT), Grammy nominations took place at Hollywood. Akon, a Grammy nominee last year, also went to No. 2, with his second release, “Konvicted.” The album generated two No. 1 singles.

The Grammys, determined by 12,000 music industry professionals who belong to the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, are supposed to focus solely on creative excellence. But commercial success is a useful way of getting voters’ attention. Other artists who have a good shot of being nominated on Thursday include Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Rihanna, John Fogerty, Amy Winehouse, John Legend and Ozzy Osbourne.

The 50th annual Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 10.
