The Provo Bros - mining powder at Retallack, British Columbia

"During the winter of 2011, my brother Neil and I were presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity. We were to spend two months embedded in the heart of the Kootenays at the legendary Retallack Lodge. The mission was to shred pow with our good friend Tanner, who was on his comeback, and to help film Retallack:The Movie for Inspired Media Concepts. I took the role of the dedicated time lapse junkie, while Neil was a true on slope camera master. This video is a showcase of our skills behind the camera, as well as a few of our favorite long lens shots from Retallack:The Movie. Time lapses make way for deep powder mining, and a trip into the heart of the "silvery slocan" to see how silver miners conquered the mountains a century ago. Mining for powder in the Selkirk mountains is serious business, and we found out just how serious it can get. We hope you enjoy our short film, and perhaps absorb just a sliver of the energy that is Retallack Lodge in beautiful British Columbia." ian provo music: "Time is the Enemy" Quantic "Cripple Creek" Stringbean "Sitting on top of the world" Sam Chatman "Sitting on top of the world" Grateful Dead Intro graphic: Main title directed by Kilian Amandola and Yoann Ponti Photographer Almira Mederic

Just like that, another sure to be classic winter in the Wasatch has begun. And boy did it start off nicely. All it took was one storm cycle to put down a blanket of snow so deep that it allowed us to go wherever we chose. I took a tour with Jim Harris to the summit of Mt. Superior, while Neil stepped on a snurf board for the first time since his bad accident in the spring where he broke his legs. check out these links to see photos from the trip:

K9SPOT.COM - I thought I would put myself out there and create something from my heart. I hope you enjoy it. A NOTE FROM ROCKY ABOUT OUR HUMAN MOM: Our Mom has loved dogs for as long as she can remember. She feels that we live in the moment, enjoy life to it’s fullest, and that we are her greatest teachers. At a very low point in her life she adopted one of us (Anubis). He was a handful at first, but he was what she needed at that time. He helped her to push herself each day, to reach for a place of zen, and to keep smiling. When we were on a walk one day and Anubis behaved poorly toward another dog (He does this sometimes you guys. He’s just a big scaredy cat at heart.) The owner of the dog, instead of being upset was very kind to her. He invited her to join a community of dog lovers that he belonged to called, “Provo Doggy Bros.” She was dumbfounded that he would see an aggressive dog and rather than shun her, invite her to come and play. She went to the next meeting and left it feeling on top of the world. This community became her friends and some even felt like family. They loved their dogs the way she loved hers and they all wanted what was best for them. Our Mom is much better now. She found a really nice human guy who has supported her dream to build this website as a gift for those people and their dogs. She hopes you find this website and this amazing community of people just as helpful during your own adventure in life. – Rocky, Champion Squirrel Chaser
